FOUL FOOLS

KARO DE NIJS

animation, 14'

In Foul Fools, two visual worlds intertwine through a dialogue between an old and young man like a never-ending dance. Their thoughts wander to contradictory thinking frameworks, one with an analytical view obsessed with scientific exactness; the other with a metaphysical gaze, amazed by the beauty and abundance of color around him. Circling around each other, like two black holes, they are lost in their own thoughts. Just like a game of chess, players take turns taking steps.

26-year-old Morgane still lives with her mother, has not yet completed her studies and her love life does not go beyond one-night stands. She apparently doesn't know how to get things done - in Brussels we call such a person a "Klette". Or does she, like so many young adults, struggle with pursuing the socially imposed life path?
