'Dance Short' is a separate section of the BBKFF open call, in which we specifically focus on short films that explore movement as a language, with a focus on the medium of film itself. We accept short films that use dance and/or movement in their subject matter or as a narrative device, under the following conditions:

 

• Music videos, documentaries, animation films and performance recordings will not be considered in this category. 

• The film must be less than 20 minutes long. 

• Open for filmmakers based in Belgium 

• Non-Dutch/English-language films must be subtitled in Dutch or English 

• The film must be made after 2015 

• The results of the selection for the Breedbeeld Dance Shorts will be announced by email, via FilmFreeway, before 7 september 2026.
