pitch session for short film scenarios
pitches and beers

Come discover new film projects! Eight filmmakers have spent the past six months working on their short film scripts as part of a mentoring program at BREEDBEELD. They're now pitching their results to an audience. Everyone is welcome to come and listen. Afterwards, there's a cozy get-together – and the chance to brainstorm new short film ideas with a (non-alcoholic) beer in hand.

These are the people and the projects they are pitching:

  • Mich Segers met "Age, Sex, Location"

  • Bastiaan Lochs met "36Oz Tomahawk Steak"

  • Floor Uytterhoeven met "Stom Ongeluk"

  • Adel Aïcha Ben Habid met "SEED"

  • Philine Janssens met "Reboot"

  • Merlijn Beullens met "Veldwerk"

Saturday 8.11 ................... 2 - 4 p.m. ... salon

Attending the pitches is free . We only ask that you register in advance.

panel discussion
Virtual reality

This panel discussion is canceled. Instead, there's two extra screenings of the VR-shorts.

Virtual reality film has now outgrown its gimmicky phase. Two Flemish VR projects were selected for the Immersive competition at the Venice Film Festival. One of them even won an award. Cut To: Ghent talks with VR creators Joren Vandenbroucke, Sine Özbilge, and Kate Voet.
and Victor Maes
. What place does virtual reality have in the film world? And how do they see the art form evolving further?

This conversation is organized by Cut to:Gent

You can watch the films of these makers in

the VR program before and after the talk.

masterclass
low-budget filmmaking

For many filmmakers, it's difficult to keep creating after graduation or a first success. Your new project might barely get funded, you might not be able to screen much... It's a phase many creators have to go through if they want to keep going.

How do you keep making films in such a situation? How do you maintain motivation? And how do you manage with limited resources? In this masterclass, several filmmakers share how they continued making short films under these circumstances and achieved success.

Sunday 9.11 ............... 3 - 4.30 pm ... salon
